Maryse LeBeau
Main Judge
Maryse's first contact with dancing was with swing, and it matched perfectly with her athletic abilities and uncanny ease in moving in synch with a partner.
Always the pioneer and hardworker, in 1999 Maryse founded with a few friends one of the first swing dance troupes in Canada, the Swinging Air Force: two years and a lot of practices later, they went on to win 3rd place at the American Lindy Hop Championships.
At the same time she struck a partnership with fellow dancer Zack Richard, and started teaching internationally, attending as a teacher and performer events suchas the Boston Tea Party, the Balboa Rendez-Vous in San Diego, the Sydney Swing Festival, Bal'in Lyon, the Paris Balboa & Shag Festival and the Berlin Balboa Festival.
Giving birth to a little daughter in 2004 didn't stop her momentum one bit, since one year later she founded the Swing ConneXion Studios, all the while continuing competing, dancing and travelling. Out of scratch, Swing ConneXion became one of Montreal's most successful dance studios with anywhere between 100 and 200 hundreds students attending each month.
An outstanding coach and scene builder, Maryse has over the years coached and brought to success more teams and individuals than she can count... And still does!
